Global Media Brand Introduces On-Chain Royalty System for Digital Collectibles
A major global media and entertainment brand has unveiled a blockchain-powered royalty distribution system designed to support creators releasing digital collectibles across multiple marketplaces. The new system ensures that royalties are paid instantly and transparently whenever NFTs are bought, sold, or transferred.
Unlike traditional royalty processes—which often require manual reconciliation between platforms—this on-chain framework embeds programmable payout logic directly into each collectible. Royalties can be automatically split among multiple contributors including artists, writers, developers, and rights holders.
The system currently supports Ethereum, Polygon, and Avalanche, and uses a cross-chain indexing layer to track secondary sales in near real time. The company noted that the goal is to create a “frictionless creative economy” where royalties are guaranteed regardless of the marketplace or region in which the asset is traded.
Creators participating in the pilot program have reported significant reductions in lost revenue due to missed tracking or delayed payouts. Several major Web3-native brands and independent artists have already announced plans to migrate their collections to the new standard, citing improved transparency and long-term value preservation.
